HISTORY

The Silicon Valley Golf Challenge will be celebrating its 12th year and has given over $1,500,000 in prize winnings to over 70 different charities. Over the years, we have hosted a world-class group of individuals from a variety of fields including technology, finance, healthcare, telecommunications, sports, viticulture, and cuisine. Some notable participants include, Condoleezza Rice, Mike Weir, Julie Inkster, Mia Hamm, Jimmy Connors, Ronnie Lott, Stan Smith, Brandi Chastain and more.

The competition is fierce and the pressure considerable, with 10 different teams having earned the champion’s title. In 2015, the team of Condoleezza Rice, Mary Meeker, Mia Hamm, Lila Barton and Marissa Mar was the first all-women’s team to win, beating out 19 other teams.

The 1-hour televised program covering the Challenge is aired following the tournament. It highlights all the highs and lows of the competition, which proves to be a source of great joy and sometimes agony for those who dared brave the day.
